Cultural and societal norms of the 18th and 19th centuries presented challenges for women composers, whose compositions were often over-shadowed by those of their male counterparts. Despite this, women have a rich history of composition, particularly of chamber music. With the evolution and change of cultural and societal rules, women now represent an equal driving force in the creation of classical music. Join us for three works by talented female composers from the 19th–21st centuries, representing various countries and styles, but sharing the female commonality.
